Day 1: Arrival, Tonle Sap Lake & Floating Village, Hotel Check-in
Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Siem Reap International Airport (REP). Upon arrival, you will be met by your transfer service.
Late Morning/Early Afternoon: Immediately upon pickup from the airport, we will go straight to visit Tonle Sap Lake and the Floating Village.
Visiting the Tonle Sap Lake & Floating Village: Board a traditional boat and embark on a fascinating journey to Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake. You'll witness the unique lifestyle of the local communities who reside in remarkable floating or stilted villages, observing their homes, schools, markets, and pagodas that adapt to the changing water levels. This offers an authentic glimpse into Cambodian daily life.
Late Afternoon: After your Tonle Sap experience, you will be transferred to your hotel in Siem Reap for check-in. Take some time to settle in and refresh.
Evening:
Old Market (Psar Chas): Explore the oldest market in Siem Reap, a bustling hub where you can find everything from local produce to souvenirs. Practice your bargaining skills and soak in the local atmosphere.
Pub Street: Experience the lively atmosphere of Pub Street. Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants, sampling local cuisine, and perhaps trying a refreshing local beer or cocktail.
Day 2: Angkor Wat, Bayon & Ta Prohm Temples
Morning (Flexible Start): After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a full day of temple exploration, focusing on the most iconic sites of the Angkor Archaeological Park.
Visiting Angkor Wat: Begin with a comprehensive tour of Angkor Wat, the most famous and well-preserved temple. Spend ample time exploring its grand scale, intricate bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology, and impressive architecture. Your guide will provide historical and cultural context.
Bayon Temple: Continue to Angkor Thom, the ancient walled city. Here, you will visit the captivating Bayon Temple, renowned for its more than 200 serene, smiling stone faces, often referred to as the "Khmer Smile." Explore the various terraces and detailed carvings.
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Cambodian lunch at a local restaurant conveniently located within the Angkor Park area.
Afternoon:
Ta Prohm Temple: Proceed to Ta Prohm, famously known as the "Tomb Raider" temple. This temple is unique for its state of partial ruin, where colossal tree roots have grown around and through the ancient stone structures, creating a mystical and photogenic atmosphere.
Evening: Return to your hotel in Siem Reap. You may optional for a relaxing massage after a day of extensive walking, and enjoy dinner at leisure.
Day 3: Phnom Kulen 1000 Lingas & Waterfalls
Morning: After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Phnom Kulen National Park, a sacred mountain and popular pilgrimage site located approximately 48km from Siem Reap.
Visiting the Phnom Kulen 1000 Lingas: Explore the "River of 1000 Lingas" (Kbal Spean), an archaeological site featuring a riverbed with intricate carvings of lingas (phallic symbols of Shiva) and other Hindu deities carved into the sandstone. This ancient ritual site is believed to bless the water before it flows downstream.
Phnom Kulen Waterfalls: Enjoy the beautiful Kulen Waterfalls, where you can relax, swim in the natural pools (if conditions permit), and enjoy the serene jungle environment. There are two main waterfalls, with the larger one offering a refreshing experience.
Lunch: A picnic lunch might be arranged at the waterfalls, or you will have lunch at a local restaurant near the area.
Afternoon: Descend from Phnom Kulen and return to Siem Reap.
Evening: Explore Siem Reap town further, perhaps do some souvenir shopping at the local markets, and enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day 4: Departure to Your Home
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or a relaxing activity.
Late Morning/Afternoon: Check out from your hotel. You will be transferred to Siem Reap International Airport (REP) for your onward journey or Departure to your home.
